WOMEN’S MINISTRY CORNER
by Ruth Solberg, Chr Women’s Ministry, Eastern District

Jackie Redmond,
National Women’s Ministry Director

It is September already and when you read this note your Women’s Ministry events and Bible Studies will be underway. I know that many of you have spent a significant amount of time with your team preparing and praying as you begin another year of ministry to the women in your church and community.

Our Eastern District Women’s Ministry Team is also busy preparing for our workshops that will be presented at our annual Eastern District Conference on October 18 at Tuscarora Conference Center. Please call the EDA office 610-395-9034 if you have not received a brochure for this event.

In June I had the privilege to attend the National EFC conference in Minneapolis. What an exciting day we had at our Women’s Ministry luncheon where 190 women were on hand to welcome our new National Women’s Ministry Director, Jackie Redmond. I am looking forward to introducing her to you in person when she has the opportunity to visit the Eastern District but for now will give you some information about her.

As part of the Interim Leadership Team for Women’s Ministry we have been praying that God would bring the right woman to us and give the EFCA National Leadership Team wisdom and direction as they read through the resumes and interview candidates. We look forward to what God will do through Jackie as she begins September 1, 2007.

Jackie resides in Canon City, Colorado with her husband Bruce. They have been married 37 years and have 4 grown children and 8 grandchildren. Jackie was a pastor’s wife for 18 years doing youth ministry and directing women’s ministry. Her passion is to see women encouraged and equipped to become disciple makers that reproduce.

For the past 10 years she has served alongside her husband directing church planting in the Rocky Mountain District of the EFCA. She is a certified trainer in behavioral assessments for ministry placement which is utilized in coaching. She has also had a very effective mentoring ministry with the wives of the church planters they minister to.

Jackie has been involved in women’s ministry leadership training across denominational lines for 9 years as a trainer for Renada/Sonlife Ministry; a workshop based on the life of Jesus that equips women to have a missional lifestyle and ministry. While living in Wisconsin, Jackie brought Leadership training for Precept Ministries to that area. She is been trained by Navigators and Campus Crusade. Her personal core values are Intimacy with God, Centrality of God’s Word, Prayerful Dependence, Fruitful Evangelism, Meaningful Relationships and Fun!

We on the Networking Team feel a great sense of anticipation about her role as the next National Director of Women’s Ministry and believe that the Lord has great plans in store for the women of the EFCA. Jackie stated in her greetings to us that she "is looking forward to new relationships and serving together for Kingdom expansion."

Would you please join our National Women’s Ministry Networking Team and begin now to pray for Jackie as she transitions into this new ministry. My prayer for our team through this transition time has been Psalm 25:4-5; - "Show us your ways, O Lord, teach us your paths; guide us in your truth and teach us, for you are God our Savior and our hope is in you all day long."
